    Re: Eurodrivers at Driven 2013?

Last year it had to have lowered/raised suspension and aftermarket wheels if the car was valued below $50,000 or something. Those were the only two requirements i heard of last year

Plus with an R there are so many factory mods anyways, you will be fine. They are such a nice and rare car that im sure a stock R would probably suffice

Being Devils advocate you also dont want to be that club with a bunch of stock looking cars either. I am not trying to put anyone down, but in the past there is always some kickback for clubs that have entered near stock cars. I think one year there was a Cavalier with Cdn Tire wheels and stock bikes that forced the organizers to put in the minimum mod rules. I would think for the group aftermarket wheels should almost be a must. Even if they have to be borrowed for the show...

IMO no matter the value a stock car is kinda dumb in a modified car show.

Thanks for bringing that point up thoughtfully Mark. I agree that a club with non-modified cars wont get much attention.

That being said i would be willing to let someone borrow my snowflakes if they wanted to use them for the show

Exactly. That was my rationale as well. It's an enthusiast's show so I would assume some creativity. Well, I should be okay but if I don't have the minimum standard by May, then I'm out.

When is the hard deadline (including to pay and assuming sign papers or something)?

              Re: Eurodrivers at Driven 2013?

This is why I recommend that we stick with around 8 cars despite the interest for more, a couple will drop out and some will be better than others. This show is not for every car we can get our hands on, but a representation of what the Euro car scene is like in Calgary as most other booths will be dominated by Asian brands. Personally I think a Golf R with wheels will be fine as it is a pretty unique car to begin with but if we are going to have 4-5 MK4s they will need to be pretty well modded IMO.

We can have pretty close to the show date to alter the lineup but the sooner everyone decides one way or another the easier it is. I have been scrambling for cars the day before too many times to leave things too loose.

I can cook up a little something before Driven. I made a commitment and I plan to stick to it!

I didn't know that was a rule but that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. If the car is worth more than 50k somehow it makes it exciting for people to look at? Ill be sure to enter a stock GMC Yukon this year...

Rod, if you let me in the exhibit, I'd be more than happy.

                        If not, no bad feelings

I agree to an extent. i am not sure of the amount exactly but i remember thinking that the thought was to keep out cheap stock cars but let more expensive stock cars (for instance a GTR or lambo or similar) in.

i think this was a correct rule last year, although pretty questionable like martin said.

and i cant remember flipstah have u ordered suspension yet?

I *may* be getting sport springs if a pending deal works out. Right now, I'm focused on wheels/tires because I love the stock suspension setup right now and don't really want to compromise it.

Well, looks like I got me some sport springs. Aston confirmed it last night.

So I have on the plate:

                                - LED tails
                                - Haldex controller
                                - Stage 1 APR
                                - Wheels/tires
                                - Sport springs for a little low

That seems like 5 to me.
