Alright so here is what we have so far...

1. Rod & Daughter (Camille) - Leave Calgary at 5PM
2. Patryk & Tracy - Leave Calgary at 5PM
3. Scott - GTI - Leave Calgary at 5PM
4. TJ - (riding with Scott) - Leave Calgary at 5PM
5. Martin - Heading west through Vancouver, will be meeting us in Bellevue
6. Evan E30 - Still unsure, but will find out shortly
7. Jamie & Janice - Have not heard back yet.

It looks like we should all be able to leave at 5pm. If we make the trek down to either Sandpoint or CDA, it should be a roughly 6.5-7.5 hour drive, however we will gain an hour due to the time change. Thinking this might be the best course of action.

As for meeting places in the crowsnest pass, I would suggest either FasGas at frank slide, the Tim Hortons a little further west OR a giant parking lot on Crowsnest lake.
All easily accessible. I think Andy and I will be the only ones going from Lethbridge. I`m good with either one and we can discuss furthur options as well so everyone's happy.

So I think the best course of action will be to meet up at the Tim Hortons in crowsnest pass. This will save some extra time for the Calgary guys as well, and with a long evening drive i'm sure everyone would like some coffee. From there I think we will trek along until either Sandpoint or CDA. With the hour we gain due to the time change, we should be reaching a hotel anywhere between 10:30 and Midnight (as long as we have a smooth drive). Considering its the first night, we can always improvise if needed.

Also, for those who have taken that route before, what would be the best way to get to crowsnest pass??? Highway 2 down to Highway 3? or go through okotoks to Highway 22 down to highway 3

Highway 22 is a nicer drive and about 15 mins shorter (according to Google). It's only a 2 lane highway though, so that can be kinda annoying. I haven't been that way in a few years though, so I have no idea what kind of shape that highway is in.

If you get behind any slow traffic that extra 15 mins you think you might save turns into an extra 30 mins. Speed limit on 22 is 100. Speed limit on qe2 is 110......take it from someone that has driven both highways many many times, you wont save much if any time taking 22 especially at the "rush hour" time of day.

Most of the people on 22 are doing 120+ km/h. I drive the exact route they are taking 5+ times a year and I save upwards of a half hour by taking 22 over highway 2. You wont be seeing much traffic leaving at 5 on a Thursday either. Long weekends are the only time you run into bad traffic(motorhomes, trailers).
Take highway 2 to nanton and take 533 to highway 22. 100% fastest and best way to crowsnest pass.

Wow 5 whole times a year............and yes the traffic is bad on 22 between 3-6pm. If you are on it after that you "should" be ok. Summer traffic on 22 is mainly motor homes that barely do 90kmh. Thats where 4 lane travel is key on QE2. But hey what do I know I only drive that stretch maybe 10 times as much as you per year.... Either way what time do you Calgarian folk plan to be at the Timmies in Blairmore?

Soo your whining that it's the slow way and yet you take it all the time. Cool. Thanks for confirming everything I said. Take highway 2 if you want to add time to your trip. Just saying.

I take it because i do a lot of business in the area. Therefor not confirming anything you said. You appear to have an inferiority complex. Do you have a jacked up dodge and small testicles? All signs so far point to yes.

Go whatever way you want to guys the trip really gets fun once you get to Washington state. The extra time to me isnt a big deal. I dont plan to wait very long in the pass.
