Great Canadian VW Weekend August 24-27

Well gents, the show date is quickly approching and I thought I should post up sooner than later as to give us time to get organized. So as she sits, the show will go down on the weekend of the 24th-27th of August. Just hoping to see who is interested and who is down like a clown! I have already rallied a small group from Airdrie but, whom else would like to parttake??

EDIT******My idea was to leave Friday, August 24th and arrive to our hotel(Sandman Hotel in Langley) later Friday night. After all festivities are done with, get a good night sleep and head back to calgary Monday, August 27th. We will meet at McDonald's by Canada Olympic Park from 5AM-6AM, and leave to start the cruise at 6AM. Break points along the way, will most likely be Golden, Kamloops, Hope and our final destination Langley(these can change)as well as photo opportunities/cool locations as we go. You are absolutely encouraged to bring a radio if we need to stop for an emergency/gas or whatever.*******

With all this being said, who is in!? If I have forgotten anything, dont be shy, step right up.

Host hotel was good last year. Book now though, I had a hard time finding a room arriving the day before

The host hotel is currently having a 10% off summer sale, so rates are a slight bit better than even the "event rates". I just booked a two bed room for 107/night, single queen rooms were 98$, booked online.

So finally i've booked some rooms for buddies and myself, they came in at $119/night for three people in each room. The lady told me that there is 1 King room left at $99/night and 11 Double rooms at $109/night, these are based on double occupancy. We have altered plans slightly and now are departing friday morning at 6AM. We will organize a meet before the cruise down at the McDonald's by COP. So if you are interested I suggest you BOOK YOUR ROOMS ASAP! There is a group rate account at the hotel registry call centre, the number is 253964 and obviously ask for the Langley location.

I hope to leave thursday morning as I'm towing the GTi to race on friday. Ill have room in my truck if anyone buys some parts and wants to get them back to town for free just let me know. I hope to see some 15 second passes at 130mph
