DJ you will also be happy to know i called oregon state parks people and asked about legality of camping on beaches. its fine, as long as you aren't in a state park on within a city limits.

Would mean packing tent, bags, pillows, headlamps, and an avalanche shovel (to level off ground)

ur a machine! that news makes me super excited. just one night is all i need, but camping next to the ocean would be wicked. all we need is someone who knows how to play guitar.... and a few surfer chicks lol
