Let me tell you it was a close call between the Mk3's. Couple of VR6 Turbos with great engines but not a lot of body work or interior work, vs a couple with amazing body or interior work but not a lot of engine mods. Hard to judge!
How exactly were the vehicles judged?

Is their any way I could get a generic copy of the judging score card? I forgot to pick up my score card after the show ended.

      Re: Euroquake WINNERS pic thread

cars were judged based off paint, interior, media/stereo and engine

items such as door jams were even judged

if you had your trunk shut and i can't see an headunit you got low points or nil.

engine same deal.. i can tell when most cars are modded so its not that hard but if your engine was shut vs open it makes the difference..

ps.. some points were VERY close causing us to go inside the hotel and chat about the placements..

I don't think the score cards were kept in the scramble to clean up after the show when it was raining.

There were categories for almost everything judged out of 5 or out of 10 and I think that all the judges tried to be fair. All the cars in each category were looked at by at least 2 judges!

What I can say from my experience in judging is that a few cars who really go all out always stand out. Also if you want to compete you need to get points in every category. E.g. even if you have a cool engine, if you have a stock interior or no stereo, its going to hurt you. All the award winning cars stood out and probably got a maximum score in at least 2 or 3 of the categories.

Here is a sample judge sheet for reference. Each car was judged twice as mentioned and then the judges, myself and Chris went over all the winners. We tried to spread things around if possible as obviously a car like George's could have won more categories, but since it was getting a few we dropped it from the MK4 Golf category to give some others a chance.

The process is long and difficult and we continue to refine it but essentially I spent the entire show, getting sheets, adding scores and going over results.

Nice pictures. That engine is crazy, I like the gold foil, very McLaren F1. So the whole show was judged by 2 people?

We had 5 Judges and then myself supervising. We did only 2 last year and it was nearly impossible to do all the cars.

It was defiantly tuff judging, I didnt even get to see the lambo or scud and took no pictures at the show it self. But it was worth it. Great show, great people!

The one thing I like about this show is the judging is fair but in the end it is not really the main part of the show. We have to much fun that the judging is almost an after thought. We met lots of nice people and had a great day looking at cars. Sure its always fun to win a trophy but it is really not even close to the only reason we go.

You mean the judges actually looked at all the cars that were there? They even took into account what had been done to the car, the quality of the work, the overall theme and attention to detail? I don't believe it.

From what I saw they did, I was even going to go bribe them when I saw them hard at work in the hotel. Why the doubt?

                                that's right Stuvy,

ANNNNDDDD we put ALL the cars in their PROPER category's. Carlo's MK1 was classed as a MK1 not a MK2 and mine wasn't a MK5 this time around.......which sucks cause I might have won. JK Phil!
