              Re: FarFromHome

I say it every year, but I will never again try cruising with CVD idiots ever again.

First they make you sign a waiver saying you won't speed or you can't cruise with them. Fine.

But to then proceed to marshall the cruise and make everyone go 80km/h on the #2 highway.....retarded. I hope the idiots who organized the cruise up read this, or if they dont frequent here feel free to post it where they do.

Driving safely is more than simply not speeding. It means obeying all the rules of the road, and this includes maintaining the speed and flow of traffic.

When you tie up the entire right lane, and trucks pulling horse trailers are forced to then move to the left lane to try and pass your convey....while then holding up the left lane....you have created a safety issue.

The fact that I was able to do 110km/h...the posted speed limit, and pass the ENTIRE convoy of cars all the way from the back in less than 45 seconds means there is a problem. You are driving too slowly.

Learn to get your $hit together before you actually do cause an accident.

btw. i loved the attempt to force me back in line while i was doing the posted limit....waving your arms like a crazy person out the window instead of holding onto the steering wheel.....that should be against your safety policy.

yep andrew.. every year i used to go i swear there would almost be a 40car pileup on #2 because of this..

yet last year i cruised with like 40 people from calgary to red deer for euroquake we did the speed limit.. and zero issues on the highway

                  Re: FarFromHome

i've done 600+ car cruises before and even with speeding its more safe than the gong show these idiots try to put on.

maybe its because the organizers have no idea how to drive themselves...so its liek the blind leading the blind.

                    Re: FarFromHome

Its that way every year, it is a surprise there has been no accidents but I remember one time we went there was a blown out tire on the road. I swear everyone panicked and hit the brakes. It was bad because we where going so slow it was impossible to speed up and get into the other lane of traffic so everyone had to slam on their brakes.

I remember doing the Gull Lake cruise in 2007, I had a bit of trouble keeping up at times. Hah. I'm glad I missed that gong show though, not the actual show however.

Last year I went on the CVD Cruise, this year I went on the DasDubbers cruise. WORLD OF A DIFFERENCE. It was a great cruise, everyone drove safely and drove at the posted speed limit. Occasionally a car or 2 from the back would cruise up the left lane passing people with the passanger taking some mad pics. Rondal, I feel your pain. Next year if you decide to go, feel free to come up with us! There are no dumb rules, just common sense. If you feel like leaving the cruise half way thru, or driving on the left lane, you're more than welcome to!

i just dont understand how the people that think they are doing a good job of marshalling people can be so blind to the problems they are actually causing.

i didn't actually sign the waiver, but i would be interested to see if the way things were being marshalled caused an accident, if those leading could be held responsible.

thanks for posting that RONDAL. it's the dumbest thing i've ever heard of. probably the main reason i don't attend this show. well, i was busy this year, but it is something i think about when this show comes around. the cars may be rad, but the drive isn't worth it, IMO.
you probably don't like me because someone else said they didn't lol. <3

Seemed to be a gong show, i only got up there for like noon, but still, i heard of guys getting kicked out for not paying and whatnot, fair enough but then someone came on and went as far as to say those people were "cheap and arrogant".

No one told me there was a $5 and i straight up didnt know, or i would have paid, instead i get called cheap and arrogant for not showing my car.
But i left for the wustefest meet and i get fingered.
And i didnt even get told that they were leaving for the wustefest meet.

As said before, way to split the community.
