choose...one...if you can't decide...go to both...euroqauke is 3 day event anyway...

I'm sorry Chris.......I'm the one that told this guy the bad things about you. I was upset and needed a shoulder to cry on after you broke my heart the last time.

P.S. I know i'm beating a dead horse but as a parent's point of view, I will NOT drive over 6hrs in one day with 2 screaming kids just to see the same VW's parked in a parking lot. Not knocking EOS in anyway, just stating the parental facts. Euroquake is a WAY shorter drive for me and the fam. You young whipper snappers that aren't tied down, have at 'er. drive to one, both or none. Last time I checked this country wasn't a liberal (dictatorship) yet, so NO ONE has the right to tell me or anyone else who's show we should attend because they have a better and have been around longer........if that was the case K-Mart and Woolco would still be where we'd all be shopping!

I have this funny feeling that I mentioned in the first few posts of this thread that before comitting to any dates the organizers of Euroquake should check with the incumbent shows (which have been running for a hell of a longer), when they would be to avoid conflict.

I don't know what the rush was to try and set dates before Jan 1/09.

I'm not trying to knock the organizers, I know the effort and time that goes into planning and running these kind of events. But some common sense and courtesy could have been used, as well as some discretion.

Euroquake is a NEW show, in its second year. There was nothing tying it to the weekend that was chosen last year. Shows like EOS and GCVW have been going on for over a decade each, and draw large crowds. It's not about which is better and which has been going on longer by any means. It's about maximizing the exposure and availability of all of the shows in the season.

No one likes choosing one show over the other. it's bad for businesses, its bad for the enthusiasts.

I've been to enough PNW shows to realize that conflicting dates split crowds and shops and it turns it into a lose, lose for all involved.

You might not be into aircooleds, but it doesn't mean others aren't as well.

This was just a simple request to respect the date some of the shows have created, and the reputation they have been able to build in the community. At the end of the day its about respect within the community.
There is how many weekends in the summer....I am sure another one could have been found very easily that didn't conflict, especially with over 6 months of planning time.

i guess its not possible to move dates? I mean like We got the entire summer and still 8 months away...

The goal is never to put our show ahead or in competition with another show, but we do have to balance things with other shows, commitments and holidays and those number of weekends shrink very fast, when you get to the details.

All of the comments and opinions are appreciated as we are growing this event and there will be issues and conflicts, which we will try to sort out as best we can. After all we want to put on a successful and fun show that you will want to attend year after year whenever it occurs.

if i were you guys i would let this rest . ............................. euroquake is on the weekend of the 22nd . i feel this is enuf notice if you wish to attend please do . now i have 6 project cars and counting to build . 15+ shows to help plan and or attend , a small car club in red deer to run , a busy automotive repair shop that i am the owner and tech for . a hockey team i play net for and i am a reserve goalie for other teams , and a familiy to spend whats left of my time , if you would be so kind as to stop asking us to change this date as it is the only one that will work for me ....................
