I just got word from Jeff @ the local dealership...
August 10 Friday 6pm: 1/4mile Drag racing $35 w/ entry to show
Location: SIR (10miles south of Saskatoon)
August 11 Saturday 10am-3pm: 2nd Annual VW Show & Shine (hosted by VW Center of Saskatoon) $15 entry
Location: On 23rd Street right in fron of City Hall and we will have the use of Civic Park (pending City Council approval). (This will be a great location!)
August 12 Sunday 12pm noon: Autocrossing with the SSCC
Location: CUC Place $20 w/ entry to the show
Or for $40 you get to participate in all 3 events. That's a deal and a half folks!
Proceeds are going to the Crisis Nursery.
Jeff is also in the process of working out a route and approval for a cruise from the show at 3pm around the river valley (absolutely beautiful if you've never seen it + tons of hotties) to a restaurant (which Jeff is open to suggestions for) at 5pm. Any other suggestions will be noted for next year (getting tight for time).
Please please please attend! Last year with minimal planning or advertising we ended up having a pretty good show. PLUS, the SIR event will be great. There is rarely ever any vdubs that race, so it would be great to show what they can really do. The show is located right downtown. There's all kinds of resturants nearby to escape for a while, or within walking distance of the river valley (I already mentioned UBER hotties). And the Vdubs usually have a pretty good presence at the autocrosses, but we could dominate and spread fear into the eyes of all non-dubbers.
Also, being as i'm one of the few ppl on here from Saskatoon, if any of you need help booking rooms or with directions, point you in the right direction of the bars/clubs you like, or with whatever, just let me know.
