Good candidate for a PD150 swap........ dooooo iiiiiiiitttttt
nah, diesels are too slow. putting in a 2.0t with uber big turbo and veyron injectors to handle the extra fuel, at least 400hp coming, and gonna trip it, slam it, etc. almost like a go-kart
VR6T might be cheaper, haven't you seen the videos of that VR6T "Red Devil" Mk3 that kills lambos and porsches?
The problem with >350ish hp imo is that a front wheen drive vehicle isn't well suited to put down the power.
An R32 swap might also be something to consider.
Do which ever is cheapest, but I imagine a VR6 is probably the cheapest engine to get as a base, you will need new rods and pistons no matter what engine you use probably if you are going to do it right. The VR6T will sound the best too. Ask george maybe he wants to build one for you

Track only? Your not putting dog box in streetcar? You are crazy!
The dog box needs to be rebuilding quiet often, because the dogs wear from all the crash shifting. It is expensive because you have to replace the whole gear (the dog teeth are attached to the gear, duh) and the slider. Each gear could be as much as $400 to $500.
I know someone local with Quaife dog box in golf - with bit over 200hp, rebuilds his gearbox every winter - that’s 5-6 race days in season and he uses the clutch all the time. I think it may last bit longer but no one wants to DNF because of the failed gearbox. I know others that rebuild trannys every second event.
Dog box is strong because it is made for competition, sounds awesome - man I love the sound.
