For under $10k and less then 200k kms you are looking at a MK3 or a 2L early MK4, not much falls into that price range.

You should be able to find a Mk3 in the range of 8-15k obviously lower kms and better condition will be closer to 15k. Nonetheless I think you can get a good Mk3 for 10k especially if you look at a car that maybe has potential to look better with some mods and repairs down the road! Personally I would rather have a Mk3 than a 2.0L Mk4... or look for something even older like a 92 GTI 16V and restore it.

          Thats 80,000km

Doubtless he is posting in Canada since he is looking in km... its usually not worth it to buy from the states if its a $10,000 car. Since he probably is talking canadian dollars, it would mean he has only $7750 to spend, minus the cost of importing the car, so more like $7,000 US.

On the other hand, if you are selling a warm-weather Mk3 in good condition with only 80,000 km on it for $7000 US he should look you up!

Well, since you are not a student of geography, Calgary is north of Salt Lake City, Utah by about 1000 miles.

So by car, you would need to drive through Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, then Wyoming and then Montana then north to Calgary. At least, thats one route.

Notice I did not need to ask where Pennsylvania was.
