    I don't have either.

But I am interested, what kind of FMIC are you looking at and why?

If you are planning on sticking with the stock turbo, I would get the Neuspeed FMIC. There are group buys on Vortex. Its really nice in my opinion, just a bit small for large turbo applications.

Not sure what rerouting you mean but the NS is the best core/tanks/fit as far as I can tell. You could always buy different pipes. Many others don't seem to fit behind the bumper very well or have crappy cores.

I agree that the Neuspeed route is long but this is in order to preserve the factory piping as much as possible. If you want, you can replace the right side pipe and buy the intake manifold from an Audi TT. Its made for the stock turbo. If you dont upgrade your turbo, getting a bigger intercooler is actually going to be a lot worse. You will have more turbo lag and you will be stressing your turbo.

Edit: I read on Vortex that Neuspeed is replacing this pipe with some new scheme soon if not immediately.

Neuspeed's cast aluminum endtanks with a SPEARCO Bar and Plate core is better than most. I think the ATP core is also bar and plate, and is bigger but will it fit? I do not like how little information is available on intercoolers from their manufacturers. Makes me suspicious.

Whatever you do, get a properly sized, efficient core and get one that will fit under your bumper or else you will either be butchering your bumper or reselling your intercooler.

The Upsolute core is really nice and it has top/bottom end tanks... probably the most practical of all the intercoolers, but practicality isn't everything I guess.

Thanks for advice Kris. I will probably be talking to Simon here in the next few days about Upsolute intercoolers.
