So I'm in the process of replacing my suspension on my b6 a4 wagon. Why dismantling the driver side control arms from the steering knuckle, the control arms were seized in the knuckle. I proceeded to grind them out and then impact hammer them out. That worked for one of the sleeves but not the other one. The other one which happens to be the bigger one of the two sleeves has the stud of the control arm still stuck in and won't come apart.
Now, I talked to Colin from Calgary Auto works and he gave me some suggestions as to how I could try and get it apart. I should also note that it's in pretty rough shape and I'm not sure if it would fit back into the knuckle properly even if I can separate them. I'm currently working out of town until the 20th so won't be able to do anything till then but I'm looking for some suggestions or a replacment of the sleeve as it seems that nobody sells the sleeve by itself and only the whole knuckle which would cost $500 to replace. Ideally a replacement sleeve would be the easiest.
Let me know what you have.
Thanks.
