    Looking for a Steering wheel that will fit an MKIV

    So I'm in the process of replacing my signal stalk and of course my steering wheel has to be one of those ones that has springs that won't release. Due to having a small attention span and running out of patience I've managed to destroy/wreck my steering wheel. I'm pretty certain the airbag is fine, but the steering wheel will need to be replaced by the time I remove it.

    I'm looking for a replacement steering wheel. I don't really care if it's a 3 spoke or 4 spoke wheel, I just need to replace it. If you do have a 3 spoke wheel I will need the airbag as well, but I won't need it for the 4 spoke.

      I was able to get one of those to release by pulling up on the airbag and then using a screwdriver to push the clip down.

      Then I kept pulling the airbag away whenever I felt the clip release.

      After 5-6 tries of doing this the airbag came off on one side, I did the same for the other.

        Yeah I have tried several different tricks and I cut the side of my wheel open to look at what's going on. It looks like my springs were never going to let loose lol. I will post some pictures once I got my replacement wheel installed and show you what I was dealing with.

          The springs push the airbag out, the clip is the only thing holding it it, if the springs are shot, the airbag doesn't get pushed away and then it re-clips when you let go.
          Pushing the clip down and pulling on the airbag should release it.

          I must admit I got really angry at the airbag too and contemplated cutting into the wheel.

              Thanks for all the offers guys! Those were some quick responses! I got a replacement wheel from a guy living down the street. I will replace it tomorrow and update this with my results. Thanks again!
