  • WTB: Audi B5 A4/S4 MPH Cluster

I need an mph cluster in order to import my b5 to the states, does anyone have one?
I have my nice euro RS4 cluster which doesn't show mph, so need to swap it out to avoid potential holdups at the border.

I don't want to spend a lot of money, as it isn't really permanent

Isn't there some company that can make an overlay?

I know some used it for the r32

Contact Ed at ed@gauged.ca he is in Van and makes overlays for the clusters but requires taking the cluster apart. Not sure if he does one for the RS4. Pick and pull would have a a4 or a6 for cheap also if you just want to pop it in for the boarder. Daz Dillenger also has a bunch of the clusters.

Not sure if you have the time but you could just have Tyler on here print some MPH numbers for you and you could stick them on. You could fix your LCD at the same time.

I put in an order with gauged.ca

It should still fit in lieu of the rs4 face.
I've had the cluster apart before, and it only takes a few minutes OR 1hr in and 1hr out if you were to have the work quoted by a Calgary shop.

Just out of curiosity why do you need to change the speedo to import into the states? Is this a requirement or a preference? I have imported several US vehicles into Canada and they have never questioned the MPH speedo.

To import a car into Canada it needs to have KPH on it, I imagine its the same with the US. KPH Audi clusters do not have MPH on them for whatever reason, but MPH clusters have KPH in small font.

It is different when going in the opposite direction.

I need a letter from Audi stating that my car is compliant to US standards, and I need to have an MPH tacho.

That's strange, none of the cars we have imported have ever had to have kmh on the speedo.

Good to know. I don't have any experience exporting to the US.
