I want to install a chip in my Jetta because I want more (HP/torque/fuel economy/...) what do you guys recommend?



I don't know about other people but I tend to ignore a thread with just 2 words, it makes me feel that if the poster doesn't care enough to write out a proper question, then it's not worth my time to even read or reply.

and for a reply: I suggest getting a custom tune done. Malone tuning is where I got mine and I love it.

Do you remember what it ruffle cost you to have it done ? It's a 2.0 I know it's not gunna be a 10 second car I'd just like to get a Lil more pick up out of it

I don't see anything listed on APR and Malone. Upsolute has one (not sure if we have a local rep anymore), but the gains are minimal and will still cost a few hundred bucks.

Don't waste your money on a chip for the 2.0. I've been there and done that, not worth it at all.

Wasn't there a thread on this a couple months ago? Someone linked to vortex.
If you want to make your 2.0L faster cam it, intake it, exhaust it and then chip it and you'll be making like MAYBE 150hp if you do a really good job. Roughy )1500-$2000 if I'm not mistaken.
Just buy my 1.8T lol you'll have way more fun in a stage 2 1.8t than a 2.0L

Take it from someone who had a 2.0L for many years...its called a 2.slow for a reason.
Any money spent to make it "faster" is a waste of money. Sell the car and buy a 1.8T if your looking something faster.

Take none of these responses as an attack... Lol...lots here started off with 2.0's and are just speaking from experience. Most ended up doing cosmetic mods and went for the low and slow modding. And as Evan stated above, you'd be better off buying his GTI. THERE IS HOWEVER a bolt on supercharger that was witnessed on a dyno and produced decent results...but again, its a few bucks...1500+$

Escalated from a chip tune to boost. I like boost and boost is the way to go for the poor, reliable, still in use on mk6 Jetta city 2.0. When comes to trying pushing out powa from the 2.0 it reminds me of an analogy my old boss said "it's like a wet cat - don't touch it!"

Ya its all good . I'm just going to re paint it chuck a lip kit on it some new rims make it look good and sell it buy a faster car
