The 1.8T swap is relatively simple. If you find a CE2 mk2 (Late 89-92) the wiring is easier and finding a motor is a lot easier now than when I did my swap. And if you do the swap yourself then you know how it's built and you will find out exactly what needs to be fixed. Because mk2's are 20+ years old now something always needs to be fixed but **** are they fun to drive. Good luck with your search
