I feel you, I have the same issues with fenders and drivers doors. I think PG must attract rust...

Pretty much every mk4 has rusty fenders.. lol take your wheel well covers off and pull out the dirt that builds up. Mine had a solid pound of dirt packed in there.

My fenders are rust free! A3's are collecting dirt in that same place
