So my gf needs another car for $1500 or less. I've been looking on Kijiji and AutoTrader, and I've seen quite a few MK3s in that price range but most of them need work or have quite a it of rust. If it doesn't need too much work then I could do it, but if the parts add up to more than $1500 then it won't work. Open to anything really but I'd prefer VWs haha

It's not much of an upgrade, but then again it wouldn't take much for it to be... Her Accord was pretty beat up when she bought it. I actually found a pretty good deal on an 03 Subaru Outback, so I'll see what happens with thatScott

Make sure that the headgaskets arent shot. Huge problem with all the boxer engines in subarus, thus why you can find them for so cheap

The autos aren't great either. Only the 2.5 engines have hg problems. I'd be a little scared buying one that cheap. I've been looking for one myself for a reliable winter car2002 Jetta TDI
