  • WTT: 2003 GTI VR6 24V for a GLI/jetta with a 1.8t

    Alright, not really in a rush. But I would like to trade my 2003 GTI VR6 24V for a GLI/jetta with a 1.8t .

It must be 2002 or newer, lower than 160 000kms (with timing belt done), I would like some cash on top as well. Absolutely NO AUTOMATICS unless your offering 10 000+ as well. Leather seats are a must, unless its a GLI with the recaros. Preferably no reflex silver/satin silver either.

My car GTI with the highly sought after VR6 24V engine. Great condition overall. Only 94 000 kms

    The good:
    -Low mileage
    -The lovely o2m 6spd tranny
-Leather Seats, no rips, no significant wear
    -Heated seats
    -Well taken care of
-Tinted windows (no idea on %, pretty dark though)
    -Stubby antenna
    -All stock other then coilovers.
    -Factory Monsoon sound system
-Rubber mats (monster mats I believe)
-8mm spacers in front, 15 mm in rear. Make the longbeaches sit fairly flush.
-Always done the oil with full synthetic. (Amsoil)
-Always try to run 94 octane from Petro, but never run with anything less than 91.
-Summer and winter tires. 2 summers are done, two have a year left. same with winters (Michelin x-ice)

The bad (I will be as honest as possible):
-Some rust (drivers side fender, hatch, passenger side rocker). Current claim with VW about it.
-Currently I believe it needs a new drivers side axle (will be getting fixed this week whatever the problem is).
-Idles a little rough. I run injector cleaner in the tank every two months or so, so I'm pretty sure that's not the issue. Tested the coilpacks, they all seem to be working. Was told it could be the sparkplugs (highly likely), or from research could be due to the warm stall issue which would require a reflash from the dealership or aftermarket software. Lastly could be fuel filter. Honestly this hasn't particularly bothered me, but will likely be doing the plugs and filter when I get the other issue resolved.
-Also the airbag light is on... aren't they all? (tight wiring in the drivers side buckle)
-Very slight oil leak. not sure where is it coming from. Possibly oil pump o-ring. Never even need to top off the oil between changes though, so its very minimal, not worth the $$$ in my opinion.

Maintenance off the top of my head:
    -Abs sensor
    -Passenger side wheel bearing
-A cv boot (not sure which one)
-New steering rack installed a year ago (previous owner was a construction worker and bottomed it out at a sight and ruined the rack)
    -Filter done ~13000 kms ago.
-Alignment done twice in the last 8 months. (one stupidly before coilovers by accident, one after final coil height was achieved) might need another one after my axle, we will see.
-New strut mounts and bearings when coils were done. New ones on stock suspension as well.
-New seal on steering rack after it was leaking. Steering fluid flush at the same time.
-New dog bone bolts, one fell off after previous owners mechanic forgot to put one in.
    -New dipstick
-New battery bought just before winter

I have also kept all the receipts for everything that has been done since I've owned the car. (Except for one of the alignment ones because it flew out the window as I was driving)

Please note the sway bar has been cut out. (Rubbing on axle), really doesn't make a difference.

As you can see this vehicle is properly maintained and its my baby, so I try to keep everything mint (student budget is sometimes limiting). Most of the issues should be resolved by the end of the week.

Also not really wanting to sell out right, unless you are serious and offering something really high. 10500+.

Thanks, feel free to Pm me. Or text me @ 403-852-65 two nine. Please try not to call as I work 58 hours a week and my employers might not be happy about it, sorry for the inconvenience.

Ps: Please do not pull out your stocks and then try to sue me for it when you think we have a deal. Nothing is final until it is written and agreed to by both parties.

FYI, you wont find a 1.8T GLI with leather seats, however even though they are cloth, those Recaro's are mighty nice!!! Or you could always swap some nice .:R32 leathers in there! GLWT!

Yeah sorry. Forgot that the recaro seats were in the GLI. That's fine as well. Just none of the "regular" cloth seats.

Stampede bump! Make me an offer for what you've got, worst case I say no.
