Looks pretty decent, and a good price. I only see 2 problems: 1) you're gonna have bumper holes (minor problem), 2) that paint chip by the windshield is already rusting. May not be a huge problem, but make sure you get the vehicle properly inspected so there isnt any more rust happening. Might not have been garaged its whole life.

Well its been a few months.. a mk2 Jetta has come and gone... Now I'm serious about finding the .:R. I have a few contacts in the states looking around for me. Iv been checking the main for-sale sites and I'm still on the hunt for the right one. less then 55k miles, no accidents. and mint condition. oh and around $16,000..

Little over $16, but you could make an offer.

All I can say is be patient and dont get too excited about it. You will find the perfect one eventually and it will be a blast. Low Mileage is key!!! I'll let you know if I see anything!

P.S. dont be scared to buy one on the other side of the continent, the drive is WELL worth it

that one at ssfc is nice, but to expensive. I cant spend anymore then 17500, That's including taxes and import fees. I know its not much, but i know its possible. There is a few listed right now with around 60k miles for $16
Is that free vin check just as good as a carfax?

Does anyone know how to buy a car from a dealer in a different province that has PST, and not pay the PST?

If you're buying it from a dealer and driving it back, you just have to let them know you're from AB. Private is no problem either.
