  • Wtb: Mk4 r32

Hey all, so i decided i want one! iv been looking on vortex for awhile now, at 20th GTI's and R's but i know all of you spend time browsing through the forums, so let me know if you come across anything. Im willing to fly to get it as well, also preferably with less than 80k miles for less than 14 000, and mint. I dont care about the mods...that i can do.
Let me know what you find!

    Thanks,
    Sean

It's not less than $14k... but the mileage and condition look good.

      R32's are the new civic.

Shoot that guy an offer? Cause you gotta fly down and check it out, get it inspected at a legit shop, not one he takes the car to.

Overhyped, over rated, and only worth the money if you're a huge VW fanboi.

Yes, I have owned one, and yes, nearly every other car I have owned was better. But if you want dudes in broke down MKIII's telling you that you're the coolest guy on earth, by all means buy one.

Well I guess you're the exception Colin. We all love our .:R's. Sure its not the greatest car in the world but it does everything pretty damn good! I think it makes a great daily/winter car especially in our climates!

Not saying your opinion doesn't count Colin but I think you might have had your expectations set too high when you bought yours and you were let down when you finally got it. Did you drive one prior to buying your old .:R?

To the OP, good luck with the search and don't be afraid to import one. Its really very straightforward!

You can have you opinions and all, but to me that sounds like a pretty elitist attitude.

                            Re: Wtb: Mk4 r32

I agree with Derek completely on this one. It really comes down to expectations. If I was coming from an M3 or a 911 to the R32... agreed, it's probably not that hot.

However...... for me, I came from a 20AE to the .:R and IMO the .:R is definitely better. The OEM suspension is definitely better, I love how the torque of the VR6 handles additional weight in the car versus the 1.8T and the AWD is awesome. That... and the fact that I CAN'T go driving around town ever without opening the flapper in third gear as I pass someone and then listening to the sweet muffler sounds of deceleration as I lift off the gas and idle back down to 3,000 rpm. Priceless.

In summary, both cars were good to me... however, I find myself always taking the long way home in my .:R, or filling up the car with 1/2 a tank of gas just to drive around aimlessly for hours on end with no destination in mind and finally, looking at my car in the parking lot and . I can't say the same for the 20AE... again, IMO.

Then again, perhaps I am a VW Fanboi?!

                            PS. Pics for clicks!

I love the sound of my VR6, too bad it is tied to a tank :(
