The EVO skidplates are Aluminum and go for around the $300 range. You can get Steel ones from a vendor in Ontario for $175 and can withstand a lot more beatings than the aluminum. It also weighs more, so choose whichever option will work better.

I bought the defender-tech one out of Ontario and so far so good, it's saved my ass a few times.

thanks for the replies. yeah i did my oil change last week and noticed my plastic belly pan was half gone and the engine side skirts hanging off. for those of you who have a Aluminum skid plate or even a metal one, do i need to replace my engine side skirts for the install of these plates or does it not matter? ive checked out the evo skid plates it seems like a pretty simple install.

Also saved someone else on the way to wustefest last year when your airhorn motor fell off and the skidplate caught it
