I dont like these cup holders. It is hard to insert a cup into them while driving, as you have to wedge it in there to open the little arm.

What year of car do you have that it doesnt have the cup holders?

Is there a spot that you can mount them in?

I would recomend trying to find better cup holders instead of the stock VW ones.

According to 95% of the people i talked to, you can swap them. You need to remove the door and pull out the entire cup holder assembly, then replace both with the new assembly and new door.

I think that there is a part either available now or soon that converts the front seat console into a cupholder. If memory serves, it's a delayed intro in 2003 MY vehicles.

I've owned both cupholders, err... both a 2002 and 2000 Jetta [HAHA] and the later edition are a definite improvement.

My unsolicited advice is to hold our for the console-type holders. [Hmm]
The harder I work, the luckier I get.
