  • WTB: Jetta Wagon

    Hi,

I'm looking to buy a 02 or newer Jetta Wagon for my growing family and as a daily driver.
It has to be a 1.8T or VR6, full load (leather nice but not nessecary), under 100,000km's and color is not so important. I would like to keep it under $20,000. Is this too much to ask?

Thanks and any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the help thus far!

James, nah Canmore is not to far for me. I'm there quiet often to vist family as I used to live there. Is the one there at the Ford dealer? If so the autotrader says it's a 2.0L and that's not good. I would like Turbo. I'll phone and confirm. Thanks for the tip though.

I do like the passat wagon as well but thought they might be too expensive to be honest. I'll add that to my list. Thanks Kor

            The search continues

No, the one at the ford dealership is blue, the one i was talking about is at a used car lot, beside the car wash, by the dodge dealership. i think its a 1.8T, but ya for sure check it out, its a good deal for sure

As for the passat wagons. i wanted one too but i found they were too much money.

Ya thats passat wagon, that one i posted, is bag'd. wicked car!

                GL with the search!

                  Re: WTB: Jetta Wagon

Don't qoute me but Jetta wagons are kind of hard to find and because of this it seems that you might be able to get a passat for the same or less money.

Passat's are really hard to find in a manual though but if you don't care there are tons of them around.

Just be careful with the 98/99's.

                    Re: WTB: Jetta Wagon

I have been looking for a Jetta Wagon for a while now and I've noticed that 1.8T's are harder to find and 2.0, and TDI's. are more common. With the Passat, what kind of problem things should I be looking for? I know with the Jetta 1.8T there was the coil pack issue. Would there be the same issue with 1.8T Passat?

                    Thx.

Coil packs will always be an issue on the 1.8T.

Passat 1.8T is a little slower IIRC due to the engine orientation as well as the weight.

                        Re: WTB: Jetta Wagon

I've found a Red 2005 Jetta wagon that I like. It has:

                        1.8T
                        leather
                        sunroof
                        Auto tranny (tip)
                        Sunroof
                        62XXX km's

It's the full load I think. They are wanting $19,885 for it, which I know is too much. How much do you think it's worth?

Thanks for any input and advise.

                          Re: WTB: Jetta Wagon

sounds like a pretty good deal. Red is a rare color wagon, dont see them that often.

I say good deal. Is it from a dealership or private sale?

Try checkin out this if you havent already.

bit of an aside, but I saw a cool looking jetta wagon last week. Dropped, with huge lip on the rear wheels. Had a eurodrivers sticker, not sure who it was though.
