So I'm looking for a few bits of trim. I need the ashtray, shift and hazard surround, all in black. If anyone has anything, holla!

Re: WTB B5 S4 Interior Bits
Ya, the silver trim is gone...but I think the OP meant the plain black plastic pieces around the shifter, hazard, and ashtray (the ones you get when you have the silver fishscale)...could be wrong though.Kyle

Re: WTB B5 S4 Interior Bits
Oh so the plastic surround.. I thought he meant the piano black trim. (Wood or silver in stock cars)
I am thinking about replacing the trim as well.. but the amount of work to take it out of the car is ludicrous! the entire dash needs to come apart. Not sure how well it would work, but I was wondering about a vinyl sticker like covering.. a glossy black or silver wouldnt be tough if they were any good.. certainly easier then taking all the trim out, getting it painted then putting it back in.Last edited by R-Audi; 03-01-2007, 10:57 AM.

Re: WTB B5 S4 Interior Bits
yea.. i dunno mark.. even on my old jetta putting the R32 trim in was the same deal you have to pull the friggin dash apart. so i think it'll be worth it to drive ghetto for a day then have it nice..
either that or ebay some rs4 carbon trim from germany.. none on there right now but i see its usually 200-300 euros or whatever so that is still quite pricey..
i want to do an RS4 steering wheel (if they are fatter??) but you need a new airbag too which is lame.. i did all that on my jetta and dont' want to have to do it again haha..

Re: WTB B5 S4 Interior Bits
Only 2-300 Euros? Here most are selling for like 1k....There is a guy on AW wanting to trade stock plus cash for his cf trim!
If you get someone good with vinyl I bet it would look nice.. sure would be easier.
I priced out an RS4 wheel a ways back.. came to like 2k once the airbag and such was in... not to mention the airbag is illegal to ship as its an explosive device. I dont think they are any fatter.. just alcantara or airleather.\
Got the exhaust in? You two S4'ers going to the meet tonight? I havent been to one FOREVER

Re: WTB B5 S4 Interior Bits
RS4 wheel is no fatter than stock...just the option of alcantara or air leather like mark said...waste of money if you ask me.
Mark, don't you dare put vinyl overlay in your S4 lol...I would help you rip apart your dash just so you don't. Even my brushed aluminum (real aluminum with 3M tape) kit in my GLI bugs me just because I know it's an overlay.
Ryan, I would definately paint your trim silver to match rather than piano...my buddy in Seattle painted his piano and although it looks really good at first, it scratches way too easy...he actually has to wax his lol!
Oh, and I will not be at the meet either (and I haven't been forever)...

Re: WTB B5 S4 Interior Bits
^Ha ha... ok, guess I wont be looking at that. I dont have the time/effort to take the entire dash apart..last thing I want is to miss a screw and have some mysterious rattle. I actually dont mind my wood. (insert joke here)
I went and ordered my first mod this week (Other mods I just transferred over.. Valeos, HID's, Euro Plate) I went with teh JH SHifter with the metal shift ball.. looks great and I got free shipping with it.. SHould be here next week!
I have my second one lined up... but probably wont be until after I sell my car.
I originally thought I could get a different bracket for my Porsche brakes to fit, but the bracket was $500 usd... and considering I already spent 800usd on the brakes, that pretty much the cost of used stoptechs... Brakes will wait!
We'll have to get a group of S4's together... I know of 2-4 others that could be interested...

Re: WTB B5 S4 Interior Bits
believe it or not, I actually don't mind the wood trim either (although I have the silver fishscale)...I think it's the fact that there are more pieces which make it look better.
I still gotta get e-codes, I can't stand looking at the orange reflectors anymore lol!
Did you buy a StgIII car or are you building it up again? What color? It would be good to get all the S's together...but it'll have to wait until I install my K04's hehe.Kyle
