  • looking 4 switchblade remote key

i am desperately seeking a switchblad remote key for my '02 Jetta. when i had originally purchased the vehicle it came with two keys. I lost the first one when i got way to drunk one night and walked 17 blocks home... it was dropped somewhere along the way. trust me i tried to find it with out any luck. And my second just busted the other day for no appearant reason... just crapped out on me. So if anyone has any ideas or leads they can email me or shout on here. THAAAAAAAANKS!

Did you try changing the battery? Mine went all of a sudden last time.

Does the light blink on the remote when you press the buttons? You may need to recode the key to the car since the battery was changed. Close the drivers door, lock it with the key, and within 15 seconds unlock with the remote (I think thats it, someone will have it online if its not).

Also check the contacts, I could hear the circuit board rattling around in one of my keys and it seemed to be just enough to break contact with the battery. Drop of epoxy on the posts and bent up the contacts a little for more pressure and seems to be fine now (although range is half what it used to be....)
