Mem Ex is selling it for $234.95, he is asking $180 obo. For those that know what I'm talking about, with an overclocking motherboard and a little voltage bump, 240 x 10 (3800+ speed) is pretty much a guaranteed lock using the stock heatsink and fan.

Damnit... i just finished buiding a PC for my little brother... put a 3000+ in it help keep cost down. This would have been great 2-3 weeks ago. oh well...

The 3000+ are still great chips!! Just a little harder to work with the 9 multiplier when overclocking cuz you need higher FSBs to get the same clock speed.

I have the 3200+ in my machine, havent had a chance to try too o/c it. You figure 3800+ equivalent though eh?

Yeah, 240 x 10 is pretty much a guaranteed from personal experience and from what I've been reading on the Internet. That's 3800+ clock speed, but because the overclocked FSB is higher than the stock FSB of the 3800+, at 240 x 10, you're probably getting closer to 4000+ performance. I've built 4 or 5 machines with Winchester or Venice cores and ALL of them have been able to hit 2400 mhz with minor voltage tweaks (1.45 to 1.5v) using stock cooler. Three of them even hit 2500 mhz with more aggressive voltage (1.55v - 1.6v) and stock cooler. Prime 95 stable of course. From what I've read, a lot of the 3000's are doing the same but with higher FSBs... 265+ FSB.
