I actually got this and an earpiece both at almost the same time, and I kind of like the earpiece better because I run around more, so this was only plugged and used for a few times.

What exactly does it do? Basically answers your phone for you when you're driving and somehow routes it through your stereo or through your speakers or radio or something?

If you have a bluetooth supporting cellphone or similar telecommunication device, this unit can pick-up an incoming call automatically for you, it has built-in microphone and speakerphone so no need to have one hand holding the cellphone or having an earpiece in your ear. If your device is equipped with voicedial feature, this unit is also compatible, just press one key and speak into the microphone and it'll dial the call for you. (Brief description)
