I lurk on here once in a while but don't post very much! A quick introduction so that you can make a decision on this for yourself. I am a Journeyman plumber/gasfitter that owns and operates my own little company called Bremworks inc. I'm throwing this out on a couple local Calgary forums and we'll see what happens! Here's the deal, If I buy ten Reznor UDAP45 heaters from my supply house, I get and will subsequently stay on some better pricing for those units. I typically buy 4-5 per year but have never bought enough to get me to the next pricing level. If I can find ten people to jump on a group buy, I'll re-sell them to you for a good price and by doing that get myself some better pricing for my normal supply and install jobs in the process. This price is just going to be for the heater itself, we can discuss installations after if that's something you'd like me to deal with. In order to be installed legally, these will require a permitted gas line and stainless steel venting if side vented, which is standard practice. These units can be bought off of EBAY for $649+$285 for the shipping so $934 before customs and tax. (that's the best deal I found) Normal retail on these is usually around $1000. If I can find ten people interested, the Bremworks group buy price will be $695+GST delivered that's $729.75 tax in at your door (In Calgary city limits) My company is 100% legit, I am a City of Calgary qualified tradesman (means I can pull permits) I'm also fully insured. Until I have ten people committed, I'll just be gathering a list of names. Once I have ten, I'll be taking $200 deposits from everyone (to make sure you're serious) with balance of payment due when I drop them off at your house. For reference sake, depending on the gas line and venting situation the typical turnaround price for a complete supply and install is usually between $1600-$1800. That includes gas line, venting, permit, the heater, t-stat, wiring and mounting hardware. (I don't do ghetto work so these are all hung off of uni-strut and all the gas line, venting and wiring looks good when I leave.) I'm not sure how many of these I could install if the buyers want me to as I am quite busy but I would certainly do my best to help. Your best bet is to consider this a retail sale of a heater only. Lots of us are handy on these boards so if you hang and wire the thing yourself, there's a better chance I'll be able to help with just the gas line and venting situation......That'll only be a problem if I find ten people interested anyways! The UDAP45 is 45,000 BTU and will be good for a garage space up to 26x26 (My garage is a bit bigger and a 45 heats it just fine.)
