  • Sony BDP-S590 2D/3D Blu-Ray Player

    *built in wifi*

    http://store.sony.com/p/3D-Blu-ray-D...r/en/p/BDPS590

Paid $149 about 5 months ago. Lightly used (about 4 times) mainly used for Netflix.
Player is missing the small, plastic cover for the CD tray (which does not effect functionality in any way).
Replacement tray cover is $9 on eBay if it matters.

    Looking for quick sale, $60.00

Can you stream movies saved to a PC HDD to it?

"Using DLNA® you can wirelessly access music, videos and photos from your PC or other compatible AndroidTM device and stream them to your Blu-ray Disc™ Player". I'm assuming you could simply connect an HDMI cable from your HDD to the BD player also?

Have you tried using the streaming capabilities? I've tried my xbox360 and a host of other media players out there but nothing seems to work very well when it comes to streaming h264 or mkV videos.

Not to get too off topic, but there are two issues... One is whether your media streaming server will try and stream the files and whether or not and whether the player can play it. The DLNA official format is restrictive and leads to the problems. There are workaround to this.

My own testing has shown Sony (and Samsung) products will play pretty much anything as long as the server settings are correct. Windows built in Media Server does not have enough flexibility to allow these setting changes. You can usually fool it into working by renaming the files to .avi regardless of the actual format.

no I have not. But what he said ^ lol, have no idea man. It's a solid Blu-Ray player, just looking for a quick sale. Like I said, I used it for Netflix 9 times out of 10, and never had an issue with anything crashing/freezing, etc.

                Bump.

$40 cash, picked up or I'm going to take it into the woods, shoot it and/or light it on fire.
