Sounds like he's a stray for sure. We found our little guy in the same way you found yours. Just an fyi...If you decide to keep him for any amount of time be aware he may have worms or any other parasite. Wash your hands often, especially after cleaning his litter box.

Re: Found: Tabby cat in the NW

I think thats the plan, seems he's a bit of a troublemaker so far, but he is catching on quick. Had him locked in the back room and he managed to scale the wall and get up into the ceiling tiles, fell through one of the tiles and trapped himself in the office for the night.

He dropped a nice deuce on the floor for me since he has never used a litter box. Couple hours later I added a little bit of dirt to his litter box and brought him to it, immediately he dropped another one. Just a little bit of dirt and he understands. Calling around getting prices for shots and neuter as I found he can get quite aggressive if you don't talk to him or scratch him and he is following you meowing. Went against Pats suggestion and gave him a shower last night as well, cause after petting him your hands were just black. Wasn't a huge fan of the water, but didn't seem to mind it that much once he realized it was warm and I was petting him.

Lisa had him standing on her lap with his paws over her shoulder and as she was scratching the cat, it was kneading and scratching her back. It was pretty funny.

I don't think he is going anywhere, I also think I am allergic to cats.

Good on you for giving him a home

Our two boys (brothers) are rescues as well but we adopted them from the Meow Foundation and we are taking them with us to London too!

High river vet clinic is a great place and much cheaper than the city to get nuts chopped off. I suggest you do it ASAP before he starts spraying

I know in BC that the SPCA will help you out with the neutering type bills when you take in an animal. We got our cat from the SPCA and it was the best money I have ever spent.

Strays seem to be way more appreciative of what they have. I know Calgary has help for people with low income households.
