  • FF: JBL 12" sub (broken)

    Hi,
To be clear - THIS SUB DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY.

This was a great sub. The service manual states 500W peak, 250W continuous. I never really pushed this sub, but when I tried to sell it on kijiji, I demo'd it and it started to crackle. What I did as a test is disconnect the sub from the internal amplifier and try running it from my house amp. I was able to get a lot more volume and no crackling. I think the sub is fine and the problem is in the internal amplifier. I can't guarantee it, but I think if you had a plate amp kicking around, this could be a good sub again. The enclosure is solid and in good condition with no nicks or scratches.

Maybe someone here has the skillz to get it going? I don't have room to store it. Eurodriver special - FREE!

I want to chat with you about something else anyways.
Ohh and we will have to put it in the garage on my new shelves so my wife doesn't kill me.
