  • Great Xmas gifts...Butterflies

    Hey all,

I made up some of these for xmas gifts for my friends & family, and I have some left over to sell. They are real butterflies/beetles that are professionally mounted by myself (I am an entomologist) and come complete in the frames & everthing. They will also have the latin names, common names (if they exist), and the country of origin of the specimens on the back.

Don't get burned by those guys at the mall. You will find that my prices are well below theirs. What you see in the picture is what you would be buying.
You can get ahold of me either by email at gaffer@shaw.ca or my cell at Andrew)

    1 Blue Morpo 8x10"

Actually when you look at it from a conservation standpoint it is really a good thing. You see, many of these butterflies come from developing nations, where there needs to be more international trade for them to prosper, or even feed themselves. Many of these insects are "farmed" for this purpose, while some are wild caught. This encourages these nations to protect these butterfly habitats (butterflies are a renewable resource) rather than forest, mine, ranch or pollute them, to ensure future supplies of these wonderful insects. Without protection, many of these butterflies would have been long extinct, and the rare natural habitats in which the live could be destroyed.

So everyone wins, including the buttterflies.

        Anyway, thanks for looking.

I bought one a few years back and have it in my living room and everyone loves it. Looking for another (for a buddy to give to his wife since she liked it a lot). Will call tomorrow and find out if you're still selling them. And thus a bump!

I'll hook up some beetles over the holidays and they should be ready when you are back from your trip.

I'll come see you for an oil change.

                        Thanks Paul,

I am not familiar with the species in the picture. Would you happen to know the name & where it is from?

If I can get the specimen then I can mount it.
