  • FS: Nikon D90 w/ lots of goodies

selling my Nikon D90; everything $800 OBO

10/10 condition, 12,788 actuations on the camera so far. I think the shutter is rated to over 150,000
No scratches, blemishes, marks or anything on the camera.
Never dropped, left out, gotten wet, etc.
ALways have had the LCD cover on it, and even that is scratch free.

I baby this thing. If it's not in my hands its in my bag.
Had the sensor cleaned Sept 2009.

    Comes with:
MB-D80 battery grip + extra battery; gives you second shutter button for shooting portraits plus adds size for heavier lenses. If you have bigger hands this is a must as it makes the camera much more comfortable to hold. These go for $170 + $40 for spare battery

Nikkor DX 18-55 kit lens; brand new, hardly ever used, no scratches marks or anything on it. $100 lens

All receipts, boxes, tutorial DVD, software, EVERYTHING.

You seriously wouldn't be able to tell a brand new one compared to this. I could box it up and no one would be any the wiser. I literally have all the original baggies, boxes, notes and papers.

this is what camera looks like with grip

    Manufacturer notes:
The D90 is the world’s first digital SLR camera with an innovative movie shooting function that delivers cinematic results, creatively enhanced by the shallow depth of field made possible by the DX-format sensor. This is further refined by the optical quality and broad selection of NIKKOR lenses — the same lenses used by professional photographers. D-Movie images exhibit less noise than those of a typical camcorder, most notably in low light situations, thanks to the D90’s large image sensor.

The D90 also provides remarkable performance and operability, featuring Nikon’s exclusive Scene Recognition System that optimizes auto focus, auto exposure, i-TTL control and auto white balance milliseconds before the shutter is released. Live View mode allows shooting while confirming the subject on the large 3-in., approx. 920k-dot, high-density colour LCD. It offers three contrast-detect AF modes to allow photographers to focus on any point in the frame, enabling a greater variety of composition. In addition to wide and normal area AF, the D90 offers Face-priority AF in Live View mode for even sharper portraits. These are just some of the powerful features housed in a compact, comfortable-to-hold body, with intuitive controls. The D90 will satisfy the requirements of passionate photographers who demand superior image quality and want exciting new photographic possibilities.

I'm looking at buying my gf a Nikon D3000 because she wants to get into photography. Is the 3000 a decent camera for a beginner who has no experience with photograpghy ther then point and shoot cameras?

D3000 is overkill for a new photographer with no experience, try a D40 or D60 if they still make them.

Re: FS: Nikon D90 w/ lots of goodies

i'd prefer if we took this offline, so if you want to shoot me a PM i'd be more than happy to answer yours Q's.

The D3000 isn't overkill, its simply a newer generation of the D40/D60 with some newer features. it's still an entry level camera.
It's kind of like you're looking to buy a new car if a golf good. well you could do a 2010 golf (d3000) or you could do a 2004 golf (d40.d60). They are both great cars to start to drive, one just has newer bells and whistles and will cost a little more.

shoot me a note, ginch PM replied.
