27" Sony Wega TV

I am thinking of selling my 27" Sony Wega TV and matching stand. TV is flat screen, with 4 inputs including 1 component, and remote control. TV is a little over 2 years old, I am thinking of switching to a widescreen but seeing if I can get some money out of the Wega first.

It is the basic model, no PIP, speakers on the bottom, 4 inputs (3 rear 1 front) not sure what else I will try and dig up the specs for you.

Dale I think I am just going to keep the TV, because I do not think I could really get that much money for this one and the new TV I want is around 4 grand so I will probably just wait a bit on this.

Yeah I would like a 42" Widescreen LCD or DLP projection tv!

i wouldnt get widescreen, its only really good for dvds. there are some channels that support it, but not many. widescreen is a big trend in europe now, i mean crazy trend, lol. and not projection widescreen, they i dont think even sell projection tv's there, people buy like a 32" widescreen tv.

widescreen is good bart.. the older ones sucked at doing 4:3 to 16:9 conversion the new ones are great at it.. a few channels do look like crap but those are the crappy channels if you watch like fox,etc they are all in HDTV now via bell,shaw,etc so your set to receive a true 1080i picture.. its best to try a regular cable/dish out on one before going out and paying 800 bucks for a damn HDTV bell or shaw box..

Here is a really good article on buying TV's today. It covers all the stuff like Widescreen, HDTV, etc. It has a very handy widescreen calculator that will tell you how big of a Widescreen TV you'll need to have the same size picture as your 4:3 TV on normal (non HDTV/Anamorphic) content.

yea i saw that a while ago bill its a good article and the calculator is cool if you hate watching stuff in WS it tells who how big it'll be like a normal tv.. good post

I personally am a big fan of widescreen, I have over 120 DVDs and almost all are widescreen so to me it is important. Plus HDTV is great and it is going to be more and more common and even the standard in a few years so I think if you are going to invest in a tv it makes sense to buy widescreen, but that is just my opinion!
