I'm wondering if it'll be possible to:

    1. Control an XM satellite receiver with a stock head unit

    if so

    2. And have a phatbox on a switchable channel (ie toggle between XM and Phatty on the CD changer mode on the Monsoon)

    Anybody have any ideas?

I think there are adaptors for controlling aftermarket CD changers from the stock headunit. So maybe something similar exists for XM Radio where it acts as a CD changer or something. The switch could be more trouble.

I dunno, if I wanted all this fanciness, I would just get a new headunit, problem solved...

Blitzsafe makes XM adapters for the VW headunits, goto enfig.com, I got my iPod one there, great service and quick!

I'm using a blitzsafe adapter for my XM. Works great! Excellent service from enfig.com too.
