The Valentine 1 is the best, the passport only gets better reviews on one site cause they pay them off.

sure sure. i dont like the v1 because its a big ass box. i'm sure its good. mine has longer range on the highway, this was already proven between me and some people...

The other pro that the V1 has, is that it is a non detectable unit, so radar detector dectectors don't pick it up. It also has a broader range than most units do.

Valentines are a great way to piss away money. Does it really matter where the radar is? Or is signal strength the most important factor? Is that worth $500 to you?

The Escort 8500 is just as good, and half the price.

The Bel 9XXs are 98% as good as either of the two above, and are half as much again. The Bels and the Escort are "upgradeable" units too.

So yeah, to hijack this post - I'm looking for an Escort 8500 or a Bel 9XX.
