BC, AB, and SK. I think everywhere else they're illegal.

I don't think they are terribly effective...in my experiences with police, by the time the radar beeps, if you are the target they have your speed recorded....If you are getting offshoot from a stationary radar you may pick up a little....but laser is highly accurate and aimed....

nah alex the V1 costs like 1000 bucks i think but they are the best on the market.. from what i've read they will save your butt

I believe they go for around $400 US new and my brother has it, the arrows are great i gotta get one. just moved to PA tho and the police use pace(?)car because radars are illegal or something, some crazy politics, but i go to jersey alot

Basically if it saves you ONCE it is paid off... so even if you own it for 5 years and you get busted 9/10 times you still got your money's worth.

That being said, the V1 is hard to come by in stores, you need to order it from the manufacturer I think. I read somewhere that the Escort Passport 8500 beat the V1 in most tests for range and accuracy of detection. You can get the 8500 at Audio Concepts I think. However, the V1 does have the directional indicators.

They are not illegal in BC or AB - only Ontario I believe (they can make you break it on the side of the road).

Pretty useless unless you match it up with a laser jammer - but a detector might save you from some multinova tickets.

I bought one of the higher end Bels - only use it on the highways tho to catch those cops driving in the opposite direction.

I thought that they were legal in: Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan.

I don't know about the rest, but I was pretty sure they were legal in Saskatchewan. Definately bad in Manitoba (as Simon would well be aware) and Ontario.
