just text'd a cop in surrey. Rcmp says they are legal in bc... I'm suspicious of that ticket. There is to act in bc that covers a ticket for a radar detector.

She did add that jammers are defiantly bad.

Ive never had a problem in BC.......Many many years of use (and getting busted a few times) on route to Windermere or Shuswap.

model number is cobra XRS-9340... I can't find the manual at home and the cobra website is down.. haha ill keep an eye out for the manual DJ.

here is what I found though
"typically cops use KA and K, so if you just want the bare minimum, kill the X, and KU bands...the safety alert is for ambulances, so you probably want that one left on."

u can get a ticket for a radar detector in b.c. and alberta . but it's unlikely that the cop would care enough to fill out the paperwork. but the deal is that radar detectors are "legal" but not to "avoid the police" . it's a messed up law but u'd have to google and read about it . i did a few years ago because i had a friend who got busted with a ticket for using a radar detector to avoid the police.
