Just out of curiosity, have you ever done a VR6 swap into a MK1? Any Idea what the cost is?

    Anyway, good price.

Vr6 into a rabbit would be a job and a half, fabricated motor mounts and all that, but a tonne-o-fun.

And yeah, not a bad price.

I have never done a swap into a Rabbit. It has been done though, a guy named James uphere just dynoed his VR6 turbo bunny at 550hp, and became the fastest front wheel in Alberta so I am told at 11.16 sec at the track. I do not have any welding equipment so I could not attempt such a swap.

Approximately how much is the cost associated to do a VR6 swap into an MKII Jetta? I bought an MKII with the intent of doing this but probably won't get around to it for a while. Right now she shall serve as a winter beater!

I would think you could budget for about 16-20 hours labour. If anyone has done this swap they may help you with this better.

We have done the swap, and Richard is bang on for the time line, I think upwards of 24 hours max if some issues arose! before the engine went in I sould replace all the plastic coolant flanges to save some headaches later on! It was easier than I originally thought, I was in charge of all the hard work, hammering out the frame rail, heavy lifting, torquing the big bolts and ordering pizza!! No really I had to order pizza!
