    Re: Gti Steering Wheel

I think it all boils down to the fact that when he was called out he turned to using terms like 'loser" in stead of explainging himself. That in its self shows the maturity of this seller.

how can he say its none of our buisness? isnt that the point of auto clubs and communitys such as this? to help eachother out? we all agree that the theme here is 'buyer beware' - which is what this thread is warning of. If any of us have a problem with a retailer, we post here and let everyone know. In some cases the retailer has posted to make amends in atempt to gain back buisness if a misunderstanding occured. An opertunity exist here for biggie to do the same. I mean, if he were to dish out 150$ to fix the wheels in question, the rest of his swag would probably sell in a hurry and he'd probably make the 150$ back anyways. I think most up us can take responsibility for our mod-buying, but hey, I appreciate any feedback regarding any store or individual seller. This steering wheel posted here sure would look nice in my car, for example, but now I wouldnt consider it because im not sure its worth the chance.

and loser? really... where did i last hear that.. what was it.. grade 4?

Look... maybe its you that just doesnt get it, or is fine with being taken advatage of. Im not.. I expect to get what I pay for.
In Hindsight Drew should have been a bit suspicious when 1 tire was different, and he figured they were cheap because of the rash. I dont think I am alone to trust someone who says the wheels aren't bent.. when in reality 3 or 4 are? I can see maybe not knowing if 1 was bent.. but 3? Drew instantly noticed the shimmy once they were mounted.. If BS drove the car at all he would have known about this. The way things stand the wheels are undriveable.. So because BS lied (or didnt know) Drew should be stuck with these wheels that require min. of $500 to be road worthy?
This IS taking advatage of someone trusting you.. and I really hope Drew takes this to small claims to get his money back, or at least partial payment towards making the wheels driveable.
Maybe thats just being a mature Seller.. Eithe way I think BS has sold his last item on ED and Beyond...

Are you BS friend or something? At least that would make sense..

No he is not, He just respects that fact that they were infact a set of used audi wheels. I can not believe you take the time and effort to post useless coments on this webpage. You have no idea what you are talking about and Turbonium makes a steller piont, that this is not WALMART. If you can't accept responsibly for your action or if you didn't do the research your like a blind man picking out his favorite porno. Now stop bickering back and fourth, trying to decide who's right or what should be done. if you don't know what this means then look it up

              Re: Gti Steering Wheel

Literally translated, the expression means, "Let the buyer beware." To this bare translation of the Latin phrase, Webster adds the explanatory note, "that is, let him [the buyer] examine the article he is buying, and act on his own judgment...."1 That interpretation by Webster is an accurate rendition of what caveat emptor means as it is applied in English and American law.2 Let the prospective buyer who is contemplating the purchase of an article examine the article, and then let him decide for himself the terms on which he is willing to purchase or decline to purchase the article. Let the rights and duties of both buyer and seller be governed by the terms upon which they mutually agree, nothing more and nothing less. When viewed in that light, what moral or ethical principle is violated by the doctrine of caveat emptor? The clear answer should be, none at all.

The notion that there is something that is at least slightly immoral or improper about the doctrine of caveat emptor apparently rests upon the mistaken belief that its application relieves the seller from his contractual obligations to the buyer. This is a gross distortion of what the phrase actually means. The expression caveat emptor is merely an effort to describe the broader doctrine of freedom of contract as it applies to the vendor-purchaser relationship. The doctrine has nothing to do with the liability of the seller for the promises he makes concerning the product he sells. He is liable for his express promises and guarantees, and in certain circumstances that liability is extended to additional promises and guarantees that may reasonably be implied from the nature of the particular transaction

Am I alone in thinking if you buy something used and you are told that the item is in a certain condition that you will actually receive the said item in the said condition?
I have bought many things online relying on pictures, and never once had a problem.

As for research.. (Blind man picking out a porno)

-Would you have allowed Drew to take the wheels without paying to get them checked out? Mount them on his car? Does he have a balancing machine in his trunk?

                  Didnt think so.

-You sent Drew a stolen picture! You dont think Drew knew what celebration wheels looked like? He wanted pictures of the ACTUAL wheels.. not some guys in N.Y.

And hopefully YOU will be able to take responsibility for your actions... And Drew will end up seeing you in Court.

Actually, what I hope for is that you be a man and admit your mistake and make things right. Remember Calgary is way to small of a place to be ripping people off.. it WILL come back to haunt you. (Thats not a threat by any means.. its the truth. You dont burn bridges in business.)

Thanks R-Audi and others for your support. I appreciate you backing me on this. I haven't decided if small claims court is going to be the way to go or not but am trying to explore all my options for a reasonable resolution. I think anyone who feels as though they have been ripped off knows what a crappy feeling it is! I'll keep everyone updated on how things go.

                        Update

Well, it looks like the only option is to take this thing to small claims court. I contacted the seller and gave him one last chance to avoid a court appearance but apparently he has nothing better to do with his time. I told him that if he was willing to pay for the repairs to the wheels ($170.00) I would drop this and he'd never hear from me again! But no dice. So now I'm pursuing the small claims thing, it's actually easier than I thought. I've even had members on other fourms offer to help pay for some of the legal costs! I'll keep everyone updated on how things go.
