  • Looking for parts to mod my car

    Hey All,
I am on the hunt for parts to start slowly doing some mods on my car nothing major just want to spruce it up a bit. Nothing over expensive too because I am on a tight budget still as I'm only working a few days this month, nothing full time for employment as of yet. :(

Well there is some work but then it wouldn't let me go home and see my mom. My Mom is more important right now than anything else, so I'm flying back to the Rock for a two weeks.

I have a Mk 4 Golf, 4 door, Indigio Blue, Automatic. This is my daily driver car too and I don't want to draw too much attention to it because I have to work in Millwoods not a very good area of Edmonton to be.

I have the front rain rails/ guards I didn't buy the back ones they look dumb to me. <---Just a Personal opinion on the back rain rails/ guards.

I used to live in Millwoods

Anyway something cheap that makes a difference is window tint... Also not a bad idea if you are worried about security because people are less likely to see something in your car they want.

Most people will tell you that the only really noticable modifications are wheels and suspension (lowering). However these are not cheap.

I have my rear windows tinted already. I don't want to tint the front ones.
I'm thinking tail lights next and sidemarkers .

Sidemarkers are great since the stock ones (orange) are kinda ugly.

Tail lights and headlights can be cool but its also possible to get some pretty cheap looking/working ones so be careful (just some advice from personal experience).

ok when I have collected enough coin Kris I'll take you shopping with me for parts, tail, head and sidemarker lights. If you don't mind.

should I look at the parts store in Victoria Aaah what is its name, there is one in Vernon and Kelowna too?

I'm torn over the blockheater and i have mixed reviews about the Panheaters, then heard they can start fires, then mixed reviews about the heaters that heat up the engine coolant (is that right) Sorrry if this not making sense brain is shut down I'm very tired. Time to head off to bed now. I'll properly edit this later.

i'am am going thru the same experience with the block heater issue,V.W does
not have a block heater at all for a Passat 2002 1.8lt.
even though it would be an easy install with the re-circulating block heater
they will not do it.(not approved)

the original owner said he never had a problem starting it in winter, just use synthetic oil and make sure battery is fully charged and use regular gas
not high octane,he was a petro engineer and something to do about flash point and the higher the octane the later it ignites..
            anyways will see this winter....lol

I have installed over 50 panheaters, the only reason VW had problems with these is 1: they used a double sided tape and not a silicone compound to adhere them and 2: the pans were not "prepped " properly to receive the pan heaters and 3: you have to be careful not to "curb" your oilpan as it can damage the electrical part of the heater.

I curbbed my Pan Heater. I haven't gone a winter with it yet, but I think things will be fine...
                huh?
