I would try posting this on Vortex, there aren't really a lot of uses for stock 1.8t manifolds...

You'd think it might be possible to modify the stock manifold by welding on a different flange or something... I am not knowledgable enough about metals though.

You could, however flange hacking gives another point of leakage, and the thin metal you insert is prone to warping, and it lowers the mount point for the turbo thus opening up a whole can o worms.

If you are going to do a custom flanged turbo you are just as well off getting a kit that includes a fitted downpipe, proper manifold, and a matched turbo already.

You won't save a heck of a lot of money or time clusterfn something together. That being said I put a turbo on my non-turbo Neon by throwing together $1,200 worth of junkyard and e-bay parts and $480 in labour.

You could extrude hone it....I'd buy it just for kicks but saving up for the ungodly expensive APR Stage III kit or maybe cheaping out and buying an AWE Tuning K04 kit means I have no room for frivolous spending....

If you are seriously considering the APR kit (which is super expensive) another great expensive kit is the european Jabbasport kit.
