That is WAY too much for 16" rims with Parada's. He would be ripping you off severely. Anything bigger than 17" doesn't usually look good on mk3s

Yea, I think that's a lot for a used set of 16's. You could probably get a new set of OZ's with rubber for 2 grand. I would tend to agree with the 17"s on MK3's. but s for types of wheels I think you'll find some very big differences on what looks good on here. Blair for instance is running some sweet TT wheels while I'm in gonna be running with Corrado steelies next summer. Some of us like Billet while others get Nauseous just thinking about billet. It really comes down to preference. Some guys are all about look while others want performance so weight is a factor. If you ask me, just stay away from the cheaper brands (Motegi, TSW, etc.) In my opinion they just don't look right on a German car.

HI and welcome. If you need 17s my brother has brand new Konig imagine opel finish rims in the boxes still he paid 1400 just for rims. he's selling the rims for 850. And you can get the rubber from contemporary motorsports for 450.00 so for less than 1500 around 1200, you get a brnd new set of rims and rubber, for right now and this market, thats a good way to go and a deal for a realy good brand of rim.Let me know what you think

Well I agree that 2 grand is probably to much however you did not mention what kind of OZ wheel they are and even though it is unlikely there are some rare multipiece OZs thet could warrant such a price.

Anyway I would continue to search there can be many a good deal on used wheels out there and you have to decide on the look you want. The rule I like for MK3s is the smaller the wheel the lower you need to be 16 or 17s are the best 18s are a little big but you can decide for yourself.

Here is a pic of my car on 17s for your reference.

Personally on a Mk3 I would go with 16's but they would need to be showing quite a bit of lip, and also be quite wide: a little poke outside the fenders. Highly stretched tires. Something classic, dare I say Borbet Type A's? Brocks look good too.

However, Blair has shown that the 17" look is hot on a Mk3, and you can even get a refined look if you go with the right style of wheel as he has done.

As for wheel brands, there are too many to mention. You could pick out a style of wheel that you like then ask us to post up similar wheels. Don't pick anything too ricey

What tires you buy really depends on how and where you plan on driving the car, what your budget is, and the look you want. You need to balance driving conditions (all season/dry/wet/show/etc) with performance (track/aggressive street/daily driving/etc), wear, price, and look.
