Tempted to buy these for the TDI but then I would really need a new skid plate

Yes and no. You will eventually need to replace the shocks as you are changing the shop where the shocks settle therefor you are wearing in a new spot and therefor more prone to leaking. There are a couple people who have just used spings and haven't had to replace them for a long time. I ran just springs on stock shocks for over a year, ride became progressively bouncier, so I upgraded the shocks and its been great since.Originally posted by StonewallYes and no.
