I have a good condition fully working oem navigation system for sale. Asking $900 shipped. Paypal preferred. Only the unit, I dont have the antenna, cds, etc. Versions A, B & D available, so 1 of each.
even the guys on vortex don't have this thing running right.. its kinda confusing because the tourag and phaeton have NAVs but this one nobody has seemed to try to use the discs from those.. the only guy i've seen had it working was using hacked benz discs.. and i don't think it included canada
edit.. although even if you don't get the nav working it has the same internals audio wise as the delta6 so thats a huge step up plus you can input video for a dvd/ps2 or whatever and it looks oem
where would this be installed? and what would i have to sign up for to make it work?
this goes in your double din slot, so if you have monsoon, take that out, and this slides in, or if you have single din, take that and the cubby hole out.
The guys on the vortex DO have this thing working right... you have to hack either a Blaupunkt, Benz, Audi, or Touareg CD to get it running, and its not that hard. And Canada discs exist now... Do a search.
Oh, and pretty soon a guy in edmonton will have it running right...
I was thinking of this for some crazy MK3 bling, but it is a lot of coin and I am starting to question how long I will keep the jetta
Really? thinking of selling? Well, Amanda and I already talked about it last friday, if you buy a TT (I mentnioned how you were joking around about it at thursdays meet, after showing up in that sweet machine) you have to sell the Jetta to us!! . She really likes your car and knows how much I love VR's! Plus after being introduced to the MK3 realm, she want's to sell the Topaz (I can't imagine why). heh heh
Edit: Off topic, sorry Bart. Buy this!!! It's worth 1/2 as much as my car!
Yeah I am really craving a TT and thinking of the best way to make it happen, but I think next spring could be the way to go but I will keep you guys in mind when the time comes. Hopefully this will not cause a coup or anything even though I think a TT is closer to a MK4 then a MK3 is...hmmm
Anyway to get this back on topic, can some one explain to me the what the different letter versions are in these systems??

I just read some info on TDIclub that might help people make their decision.
Actually, the D versus G has nothing to do with the immobilizer. It has to do with communicating with the cluster and the CAN bus. If you don't have a high pixel cluster and never plan on gettting one, buy a G unit. It has a neat speller function that makes entering destinations much easier. If you do have a high pixel cluster or you are getting one you might, and I stress might, want to consider a D unit since we haven't been able to get the G unit to work with the high pixel cluster. We are still working on it but there are no guarantees. Also, if you have a pre-2002 car, and have a high pixel cluster, you will need a D unit since there is no way for the G-unit to communicate over the older CAN bus to the high pixel cluster. Confused yet?
