  • FS: VW 9W7 Bluetooth Kit

    $300
FS: New OEM VW 9W7 bluetooth kit which includes:
    - Latest revision 9W7 module (7P6035730N)
    - Wiring Harness
    - Microphone w/ harness (3B0035711B)
    - Module cover

This is an upgrade to the 9W2 and 9W3 bluetooth modules found on vehicles with RNS-510, RNS-310 and RCD-510 head units installed up to approximately 2011 VW model years. Depending on your head unit and steering wheel models it will give you A2DP bluetooth streaming audio, bluetooth audio control via screen or steering wheel or voice command, phone book access on the DIS. Essentially bring you up to date with all the bluetooth functionality offered on newer cars.

Do your research! I am not taking responsibility for compatibility with the buyer's car!

The early VW bluetooth setups can have compatibility issues depending on your head unit and steering wheel.
All of my research was focused on the RCD-510 with multifunction steering wheel and white DIS in my 2010 Passat, which had a 9W3 module from the factory, which has all the phone connectivity features but no streaming audio. I can offer the following info, but buyer takes responsibility for compatibility:

    - Vag-com may be required for some installations but it wasn't on my passat.
    - This can be used on vehicles with the white or red dot matrix DIS, with or without multifunction wheel. You don't get all the functions with the red screen and obviously without the multifunction wheel. Additional parts required for red MFA.
    - You need RCD-510 revision AF or newer to get the bluetooth audio control. If you have an earlier revision number (like I did) the streaming audio functionality sucks. It will stream audio but you can only control music from your phone and no track info on any screens. I am fairly sure the RNS units don't have the same revision issue.
    - If you are upgrading from a 9W3 you need to add two wires from your existing module to the head unit for a missing channel of bluetooth audio, or replace your harness with the one that comes with this kit. 9W3's were set up with mono bluetooth audio for phone only. 9W2's don't have this issue.
