Selling our 2005.5 Audi s4 avant (wagon) 4.2 litre v8 engine producing over 340 horsepower with Quattro all wheel drive. The imola yellow color is one of the rarest colours available.This particular s4 is one of eleven in North America. Regularly serviced at Eurasia and needs nothing. Well loved but we are excepting another child and want more room. Priced the car aggressively as I have already replaced it with a q5. Lowballers will be ignored. Inspection welcomed. Located in Edmonton. SOLD

Timing Chain has not been replaced. I have had it service regularly at Eurasia and they have never recommended any repairs to the timing system. I has however had the front control arm replacement done with a fresh alignment.

The $5000-$10000 price tag to perform the timing chain and service might be scaring people away? Looks like a nice car otherwise. GLWS.

I have had a couple inquiries about if the chain service has been performed. When I purchased the car I did a fair amount of research and found it was a small number of cars that needed the repair. In fact of the 26 Audi s4 v8's listed on kijiji currently not one has the chain service done, which would be something a seller would mention. That being said at every service I have had the techs check for any signs of failure and the response was always negative.

I have also heard that the timing chain challenges only affected a small percentage of the 4.2L in the S4s.

Nice avant, if it was the manual I bet it would be sold already. GLWS

The comments mention an article by Doug Munroe on Jalopnik which has really hurt the resale for these V8's. It's unfortunate and the comments also indicate that the tensioner issue was more to do with the earlier B6 cars.


I watched that auction with much interest.
