Hey all,
Got the last piece of my Golf R here - a staggered set of Authentic, 2 piece, BBS Super RS in 18" (polished lips, raw barrels, silver outers) which are a perfect fitment, in my opinion, for mk5/mk6 Golfs - possibly mk7 too but I don't have any experience with fitment on the new car. As some of you might remember, I used to have a 19" set of these wheels but I parted ways with them because they were just too big for the car at a static ride height and looked a little goofy. It took a long time for me to track down this 18" set. I never got around to finishing them in time to make it on to my old car but now they are done. Redrilled to 5x112 with some welding and wet sanding to fix the curbage, and minty fresh polished lips.
Front - 18x8 et39
Rear - 18x9 et42
Speaking of fitment, before redrilling I test-fitted these on my car (mk6 R) and the rears were 1mm less aggressive than my old VMR setup with a half inch less wheel on the inside (again - that's perfect because I had very occasional issues with my 9.5inch rears rubbing on the inside)
You can dump the car to an extremely low ride height and these wheels should tuck (if you dial in 2-3degrees, and if you're in to that sort of thing The fronts will sit nice and conservative, but you might want to use a 3-5mm spacer if you want to be closer to flush.
I'd already sold them to a good friend of mine but he's had a change of heart on the direction he's taking his MK6 GTI so I thought I'd put a feeler here to see if there's any takers.
