Hi everyone,
Sadly I've decided to get rid of my project car. The car is a 1990 VW corrado G60. The car was originally from Hawaii I believe and a previous owner imported it to canada a few years ago.
The body is in OK shape, there is some rust on the rear panel below the hatch, some starting around the rear wheel wells and some around the gas filler.
The charger was apparently (according to the person I bought the car off of) rebuilt about 40k kms ago but I don't have any receipts for it so I can't guarantee that. The car seemed to pull ok the few times I had it out so I think the charger is still good.
Car is high mileage (I will pull the mileage tomorrow) but a lot of stuff was replaced for the OOP when it was imported ( I have a stack of receipts).
I had planned a VR swap so I will include a higher mileage 12v VR6 with ECU and most wiring as well as a passat front cross-member (will need to locate a mk3 k-frame, vr6 hood and other misc parts for the swap).
The car passed a safety inspection 2 years ago no problem and has been sitting ever since other than the 4 or 5 times I’ve taken it out.
Also will include a spoonfed carbon fibre rear license plate panel (currently on the car), it is a really nice piece
Major problems to be addressed:
- Coolant leak from upper rad outlet- the o-ring needs to be ordered through the dealer i believe a previous owner probably didn't want to do this so they used gasket maker instead and I’m sure it has just dried out and crack causing the leak.
- A decent oil leak occurred after I took it out last (leaked a decent puddle on the garage floor overnight), I haven’t investigated where it is coming from yet as I was just going to pull the motor and put in the VR.
- Fuel pump works intermittently, sometimes when you shut the car off you will have to cycle the key several times to get the pump to kick over. I have a used replacement pump to go with the car.
- Headlights will need to be re-wired. One of the previous owners of the car did a horrible job wiring them and they were a fire risk so I clipped the wires and taped them off. I will however be including a brand new never installed pair of FK projectors (chrome version) with the sale.
- horns need to be re-installed
Looking to get $1000
Pics to come.
